Additional Drivers Needed for Meals on Wheels

Anoka-Champlin Meals on Wheels (Impact Services) continues to serve the elderly and homebound with daily hot meals prepared at Mercy Hospital and delivered by volunteer drivers from area churches. There are individuals in our community that are in need of a nutritious noon time meal, as well as a wellness check-in from a caring neighbor. Impact Services provides that meal and check-in Monday through Friday each week for neighbors in need. The neighbors we serve are senior citizens, adults with physical disabilities or mental health issues, recovering from surgery, or otherwise homebound. Our goal is to provide those in our community at nutritional risk with a warm meal and visit from a caring volunteer.

In order to provide this service, we need more drivers. Our parish volunteers drive once every six weeks. Peggy Johnson is the current St. Stephen’s driver coordinator. If interested in becoming a driver, please call Peggy at 763-323-3228. Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve those in need!
