The parish receives requests from parishioners and community members to assist families in need of food and gifts for Christmas. Parishioners can “sponsor” families and provide a Christmas Basket by purchasing food, toys, clothing, etc.
Thank you to those who have already stepped forward to assist with the Christmas Basket program.
We can always be blessed with more sponsors.
Some businesses choose to sponsor families.
Having people from an extended family or having friends go together is a good way to sponsor if you do not wish to sponsor a family alone.
If you sponsor, it can be for gifts and food or gifts only or food only. You may go online to fill out the
sponsor form .
If you do not wish to sponsor, you can also help out with donations. Donations can be in the form of money (which helps with families who make a request for help).
Donations can be in the form of gift cards, either small amounts or larger amounts.
Donations can be in the form of books (don’t forget the teens).
There will also be an opportunity for Stuff the Bus in December. This is an opportunity for other new gift items that we can give to people who are not sponsored. It will take place at St. Stephen the weekend of December 1-2, at the Jackson Street curb, near Door 8. The hours are: Saturday, 4:30–5:30 p.m. and Sunday, 8:00–11:00 a.m., and 5:30–6:30 p.m.
A bus for Christmas Basket donations will also be at the downtown Anoka tree-lighting festivities on Saturday, December 1, 3:00–7:00 p.m.
As usual, there are boxes in the area surrounding the Faith Community Center in which you may place NEW items to be used as Christmas gifts for those who are not sponsored.
NEW toys, books, and games for all ages are welcome.
Everyone can pray for the success of our hands in this project to help others at Christmas.
Baskets will be distributed Friday, December 14.
