Catholics at the Capitol

March 9, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Minnesota faces real challenges: Assisted Suicide, Failing Schools, Family Poverty.

Catholics are called to respond.

Thursday, March 9, 2017        9 AM – 4 PM
River Centre/State Capitol, Saint Paul, Minnesota

Recently many people have taken to the streets, the sound waves, and social media to express their views and advance their ideas about society and public policy. Regardless of the merits of some of the views presented, these demonstrations conveyed an undeniable principle:  those who speak up are the ones who are heard.  In the midst of this uptick in advocacy, what will Catholics do? Will we speak up and share our unique message of human dignity and the sanctity of life with our elected officials? Or will we keep our light hidden, staying on the sidelines while others dictate the course of our society?

The bishops of Minnesota are hosting Catholics at the Capitol on Thursday, March 9, a day of inspiration and advocacy in St. Paul. Attendees will learn about the connection between our Catholic faith and citizenship, be informed about key issues facing our state, and then head to the Capitol to share their message with legislators.  Whether you’re a seasoned political veteran or a newcomer to advocacy, you’ll be equipped to make a difference, and to protect life and human dignity in Minnesota.
