Sacristans, both during the week and the weekend, play an important role in the liturgy of the parish. Under the direction of the pastor or presiding celebrant, they are responsible for the set-up, take-down and care of the sacred vessels. It is a ministry that requires both reverence for the sacred liturgy and efficient preparation for celebration of the Mass. Serving as a Sacristan is an honor and a responsibility, and those who commit to it need nurturing and support.
